The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed, all-volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard. Created by an Act of Congress in 1939, it has grown to over 21,000 members who support the Coast Guard in all its non-military, and non-law-enforcement missions. Although the Auxiliary's primary focus is Recreational Boating Safety, Division 22 focuses heavily on direct support to the Active Duty Coast Guard at their Sector Headquarters and Coast Guard Shipyard in Baltimore, MD. With six Flotillas (units) consisting of approximately 180 members, Division 22 is one of the most active units in the country and has members supporting Small Boat Station Curtis Bay, the Cutters JAMES RANKIN and CHOCK, Aids to Navigation Team Baltimore, Coast Guard Yard Security Forces, the Electronics Repair Facility, and the Coast Guard Cutter EAGLE among other units, stations, and cutters.
